The great enthusiasm of the kids and young adults of our community led us to plan for yet another round of Brown Bag event for the homeless teens and adults. It brings us immense pleasure to announce that this year Saikat will be organizing a “Boisakhi Mela” on Saturday April 06, 2019 to usher in the first day (“Poila Boisakh”) of the Bengali New Year (Bongabdo 1426). "Niharkana (নিহারকন্যা) rehabilitation center"  is in Kolkata near Dum Dum run by Kanta Chakraborty, established with the dream of helping street children to grow up in a less hostile environment. Currently they have about 20 kids who are regularly attending schools and left begging at station. This year (2017) natural disasters have taken a big toll both in the U.S. and in India. On one hand, hurricanes like Harvey have inflicted nearly $200 billion in damage. On the other hand, incessant rainfall has caused severe floods in West Bengal and other parts of India.

Saikat fundraising helped Baby Tai recover from injury from violent head-on collision

The Ghosh family was travelling from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon on the 27th of February, 2016 when they fell victim to a violent head-on collision. Most notable was the injury suffered by their 13-month old daughter Baby Tai who has a fractured vertebra in her spinal cord as well as multiple fractures in the arm, leg and collar bone....
