Dear Saikat Family,

As our two-year term as the Executive Committee comes to a close, we reflect on a meaningful journey marked by vibrant cultural events, expanded community service efforts, and broader outreach in education and wellness across all generations of our community.

Highlights

During our tenure, we were fortunate to help nurture several initiatives and milestones that we believe will continue to shape Saikat’s future:

Organizational Alignment with Arts & Culture Mission

Saikat’s identity was realigned to reflect its inclusive mission, with IRS classification updated to Arts & Culture (A23 – Culture & Ethnic Awareness), strengthening its cultural standing and expanding access to mission-aligned grants, funding, and partnerships.

Recognition by the City of San Diego

Saikat received formal recognition from the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, which awarded grant funding for two consecutive years (approximately $48K).

Cultural Milestones

Hosted the first Saikat NatyoMela, celebrating theater and performing arts Organized a memorable Bollywood concert by Abhijeet Bhattacharya, bringing together music lovers across generations

Educational & Skill-Building Workshops

We organized Math and Python workshops for students, as well as dance workshops led by professional instructors.

Wellness Initiatives

Introduced virtual yoga sessions to promote physical and mental well-being, making participation accessible beyond geographic boundaries.

Philanthropy & Global Impact

Supported women health screening, rural development and Los Angeles wildfire relief. Extended financial support related to RG Kar incident protests, reaffirming our commitment to standing against injustice and supporting the broader community.

A special thanks to Easeeta Ray Chaudhuri, Shri Anindya Bhattacharya, and Shri Sushil K Mahata for their invaluable guidance on the Board of Advisors. Their wisdom has been a guiding light for us.

As we pass the baton to the new Executive Committee, we wish them the very best. May Saikat continue to soar to new heights of glory in the coming years. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.
